
These stairs, located on the Temple Street side of the building led to
the attic, now the "penthouse" condos.
As a student during the 1980's I had opened the door once.
The stairs were covered in pigeon droppings and feathers. At the
top of the stairway pigeons were flying in and out of a hole in a
window created by a missing pane of glass.
Now we all know what the hot lunch chicken really was and
where it came from.
The Springfield High yearbook from 1900 accurately described the
