This doorway led to the balcony of the auditorium, and was locked off years before the class of 1985 entered as freshmen. 
The clear glass is trigonal as it is warped  and distorted from being in place for over 100 years.
Remember being told in science class that  glass is NOT  a true solid as it does not keep its shape????
The glass in the door (bottom of the picture) and to the right contains chicken wire.
